We move rooms, not guesses

Every Linen Flint job starts with a walk-through so the crew arrives knowing the stairs, the doorways and the one cabinet that must not be tipped. You get a written inventory, a time window and the same lead hand from first carry to final sign-off.

01 Service lanes

Six lanes we actually run

Each lane has its own crew shape, vehicle and material list. Pick the one that matches your job — it keeps the quote honest and stops us sending three people where five are needed.

01

Whole-home moves

Two to five bedrooms, single or split delivery. Beds, wardrobes and table legs are dismantled, bagged and rebuilt in the right rooms, with floor runners down before the first box lands.

  • Dismantle & rebuild
  • Floor protection
  • Room labelling

02

Walk-ups & tight access

Fourth-floor flats, spiral stairs, narrow landings and lifts too small for a sofa. We survey the turn radius first and plan hoist-free routes, extra hands or a shuttle van instead of guessing on the day.

  • Turn-radius check
  • Shuttle van option
  • Extra carry crew

03

Office & studio relocations

Evening and weekend windows so your Monday opens as normal. Desks are numbered to a floor plan, cables coiled and tagged per workstation, and server or studio gear handled in its own crates.

  • Out-of-hours
  • Floor-plan numbering
  • Cable tagging

04

Packing only

You keep the van, we do the fragile work. A pack-only crew wraps kitchens, glassware, art and books to the same standard we use on full moves, then leaves you a numbered inventory sheet.

  • Kitchen & glass
  • Art & mirrors
  • Numbered inventory

05

Storage hand-off

For gaps between completion dates. Goods are inventoried into palletised units, photographed on load, and redelivered on a booked slot — part loads welcome if only the furniture needs to wait.

  • Photo on load
  • Part loads
  • Booked redelivery

06

Specialty & heavy items

Uprights and small grands, safes, stone tops, treadmills, aquariums and oversized canvases. These are quoted separately after survey because the lift plan, not the weight, sets the price.

  • Lift plan
  • Custom crating
  • Quoted after survey

02 Move day

How a standard move day runs

Times shift with volume and travel, but the order never does. This is the schedule we work to on a typical three-bedroom local move with one delivery address.

07:45Arrive

Walk the route

Lead hand confirms the inventory with you, agrees which items travel last, and sets floor runners, door guards and banister padding before anything is lifted.

08:15Wrap

Protect and dismantle

Soft furniture goes into fitted covers, hard edges into corrugated wrap. Beds and flat-pack units come apart, with fixings bagged and taped to the frame they belong to.

09:30Load

Load to a plan

Heavy base, tiered mid, fragile crates last and strapped at every tier. Items needed first at the new place load nearest the door so they come off first.

13:00Deliver

Place by room label

Boxes land in the room named on the label, not in a hallway pile. Furniture is rebuilt, levelled and positioned once — tell us where it goes before we set it down.

16:30Finish

Check and clear

We walk the inventory with you, reconnect what we disconnected, flatten and remove our wrap and cartons, and note anything you want revisited before the crew stands down.

What we pack things into

Use this index when you are packing ahead of us. Matching the box to the contents is the single biggest thing you can do to keep breakages at zero — and it speeds up loading.

04 Pricing

What actually changes your price

Volume is only part of it. These five factors move a quote more than anything else, so it is worth knowing them before you compare estimates — ours or anyone's.

Factor 01Floors and lift access

Stairs cost time on every single item. A working lift large enough for a mattress usually offsets several floors; a lift you must book in hour-long slots can cost more than stairs.

Factor 02Carry distance to the van

The walk between door and tailgate is measured at both ends. Anything past roughly twenty metres, or through a shared courtyard or gate, changes the crew size we quote.

Factor 03Volume, not room count

Two people in a one-bed flat with a workshop can out-volume a sparse three-bed house. We quote on cubic metres from the survey, which is why the walk-through matters.

Factor 04Dismantle and reassembly

Fitted wardrobes, bunk beds, large flat-pack units and wall-mounted screens all add labour at both ends. Tell us what you want rebuilt and what can stay in parts.

Factor 05Date and time window

Month-end Fridays, Saturdays and bank-holiday weekends carry peak rates. A mid-week, mid-month morning is the cheapest slot we offer, and the easiest to keep on schedule.

Also usefulOffice jobs

For studios and offices, send a floor plan with the enquiry. Workstation counts and a plan drawing get you an accurate figure without a site visit in most cases.

— Before you compare quotes

Ask every mover these three things

  • Is the figure fixed or hourly? A fixed price after survey cannot drift because the stairs were slower than someone hoped.
  • Who is on the crew? Ask whether the people quoting are the people lifting, and whether a named lead hand stays on the job all day.
  • What is the cover limit per item? Goods-in-transit cover has a per-item ceiling. If you own something above it, it needs declaring before move day.

05 Questions

Asked before almost every booking

The answers below are the same ones our office gives on the phone. If yours is not here, add it to the notes field in the quote request.

How far ahead should I book?
Four to six weeks for a month-end or weekend date, two weeks for mid-week. We hold a provisional slot free for seven days once a quote is issued, which covers most completion delays. If your date is still uncertain, book the slot and confirm later rather than waiting for certainty.
Do you take a deposit, and when is the balance due?
A booking deposit secures the date and comes off the final figure. The balance is due on completion of the move, after the inventory walk-through. We do not ask for the full amount up front, and we do not add fuel or stair surcharges after the fact — anything surveyed is in the quote.
What happens if something is damaged?
Note it during the walk-through so it is recorded with the photographs taken at load. Goods-in-transit cover applies per item up to a declared ceiling; higher-value pieces need listing in advance so they can be crated and covered properly. Self-packed cartons we never opened are the one category treated differently, so pack fragile items with us if you want them covered.
Can you sort out parking at either end?
We tell you exactly what the van needs — length, headroom and how close it must get — and which permit or suspension to apply for, since councils only issue those to the resident or occupier. Where no bay is possible we plan a shuttle, bringing goods out to a legally parked vehicle in a smaller van.
Will you move plants, pets or paint?
Houseplants travel at your risk and go on last so they spend the least time boxed; pets must travel with you, not in the vehicle. We cannot carry fuel, gas cylinders, aerosols, solvents, open paint or anything perishable from a fridge or freezer. Empty and defrost appliances at least a day before.
What if my completion slips or I need to reschedule?
Tell us as soon as you know. Moving the date is free with more than seven days' notice, subject to availability. Inside seven days we try to swap you into another slot first; if the keys genuinely do not arrive, the crew can load, hold the goods overnight in the vehicle or in storage, and deliver the next working day.

06 Quote request

Tell us the date and the stairs

Six fields is enough to price most moves. Send it over and we will come back with a survey time and an indicative figure.

— What happens next

  • 1 · We read it properly Someone from the crew office reviews your access details, not an automated price grid.
  • 2 · Survey booked In person for whole homes and specialty items, or a room-by-room video walk for smaller jobs.
  • 3 · Fixed quote issued One written figure with the inventory, crew size, materials and arrival window set out line by line.
  • 4 · Date held Your slot stays provisionally reserved for seven days while you decide.

Prefer to write in your own words? Use the notes field — the more you tell us about access, the fewer surprises there are on the day.

We use these details to price and schedule your move, and for nothing else.
